  • Speculating on Whether Regehr Should be Traded by the Flames reggie

Based on a few comments on the Illegal Curve radio show, I put up a post on Matchsticks & Gasoline yesterday about the Flames potential to trade Regehr and why it’s time to do so.

    The article is posted here.

Below is an excerpt from the article.

“Now before everyone gets their guard up and says Regehr is [...]

Here is a study that I did for Hockey Prospectus on NHL Team Architecture.  Obviously since I posted it on HP, I believe they have a great site, so definitely take a look at some of the material from their other great writers too.

This is a story I posted on Matchsticks & Gasoline as part of our player preview series.  Come take a look at some of the other articles if you’re interested.

Rex Ryan may be the king of the F-bombs, but he better use as many as he can during the regular season.  The Jets won’t be making the playoffs.

The Jets used up all their luck last year.  There are no playoff-bound cakewalk games at the end of this season’s schedule.  Opposing kickers are all out [...]

  • What is Darrelle Revis Worth to the Jets? revis

Revis Island can be a lonely place for receivers.  At the moment it’s also a lonely place for a Darrelle Revis.  The man who was hands-down the best defensive player in the league last year is not practicing or spending time with his teammates, and it HAS to be a frustrating way to follow up [...]

About

Sports-Opinionated is dedicated to giving you the rants, ramblngs, analysis and of course…opinions of a few fanatical sports fans.  We currently have 3 writers and touch on a variety of sports such as football, hockey, soccer, the Olympics and anything else that drives the urge to write.

Hopefully you like what you read and are encouraged to comment and join in the opinionated debate.

Writers Profiles

Ryan Popilchak

Avid fan of the NHL, NFL and European soccer. I follow all three and do my best to write about them as well.

My teams are the Flames, Colts and AC Milan, but I have a soft spot for Arsenal and any Canadian hockey teams.

I love to debate sports, especially stats, strategies, tactics, and personnel moves. I’m stubborn as hell, but like being proven wrong too. Please send me an email or reply to my comments if there is more to discuss, I’ll always do my best to answer.

I currently write here at S-O and some of our content is published on Matchsticks & GasolineHockey Prospectus, the odd time on Front Office Fans, , and even a few spots on Behind the Net hockey .

Pete and I also host the Pink Shirt Wise Guys: Italian Soccer podcast which can be found on iTunes.

Marty Borotsik

Marty is an NFL fanatic whose allegiance lies with the Seattle Seahawks but follows the NFL as deeply and completely as anyone I know.  We’re trying to get him to share his ample hockey opinions as well, but at the moment he focusses only on the gridiron.

Peter Aiello

Avid Serie A follower and Juventus supporter, Pete has more than enough pent up ranting to fill every week’s Pink Shirt Wise Guys: Italian Soccer podcast.  He also manages to chip in a few posts on strange stories from around the sporting world, known as the Backpages here on Sports-Opinionated.
